During a business visit to Turkmenistan by representatives of the Lomay Production Center from Kazakhstan’s Mangistau region, officials discussed the seasonal export of Turkmen fruits and vegetables to the city of Aktau, as reported by Turkmenistan's official media on Monday.
The parties exchanged views on the possibility of using the center’s logistics infrastructure, designed to store up to 40,000 tons of products, to facilitate these exports.
In meetings with representatives of large Turkmen agricultural producers, processors, and exporters, the Kazakh delegation expressed interest in purchasing apples, pears, dates, apricots, plums, tomatoes, and onions. The cooperation is expected to develop by leveraging the seasonal and logistical advantages of Kazakhstan’s Mangistau region, which borders Turkmenistan’s Balkan province.
Kazakh visitors also toured modern greenhouse complexes in Turkmenistan specializing in the cultivation of tropical fruits, including bananas.
