Turkmen President Leads Constitution and State Flag Day Celebrations
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in national celebrations on May 18 marking the country’s Constitution and State Flag Day, according to official Turkmen media.
The main ceremonies were held in Ashgabat at the Monument of the Constitution and the national flagpole. In the morning, the head of state laid a wreath at the base of the monument, which symbolizes the foundations of Turkmen statehood and democratic principles.
Later, President Berdimuhamedov attended a solemn ceremony at the flagpole, where he also laid a wreath at its base.
The ceremonies were attended by the Chairman of the Mejlis, deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of ministries and agencies, members of the diplomatic corps, public organizations, students, and residents of the capital.
Festivities continued across the country with concerts, performances by folk ensembles, and cultural programs.
