Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, met on Monday with President of France Emmanuel Macron in Paris, according to a statement shared on Macron’s social media.
During the meeting, the two sides signed a series of agreements aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in energy transition, infrastructure, education, and culture.
According to AFP, one of the key outcomes was the signing of a framework agreement with Thales Alenia Space Group for the delivery of a second telecommunications satellite for Turkmenistan.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Emmanuel Macron also agreed to cooperate on sustainable urban development, prepare a roadmap for academic and educational exchanges, and expand a joint archaeological mission in Turkmenistan.
Earlier the same day, National Leader of the Turkmen people attended an exhibition held as part of the Turkmen-French Economic Forum.
