Delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov, participated in the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) held in on April 11, 2025, Almaty, Kazakhstan, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting brought together foreign ministers and deputy ministers from CIS member states, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives from the CIS Executive Committee.
Participants discussed a broad range of multilateral cooperation issues, focusing on political and diplomatic collaboration, the development of trade and economic ties, and the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian connections.
On the same day, a meeting in the "Central Asia – Russia" format was held in Almaty, where foreign ministers reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the most recent summit of heads of state and coordinated further steps to deepen partnerships in areas of mutual interest.
