Chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova met with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday during her working visit to Ankara. As part of the meeting, the Speaker extended an invitation to the Turkish leader for an international forum in Ashgabat, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the "International Year of Peace and Trust."

Gulmanova conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Turkish president on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as reported by the press service of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

The sides emphasized the historical, cultural, and spiritual ties between the peoples of the two countries, based on mutual respect and trust. Special attention was given to the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening intergovernmental relations, as well as the significance of cooperation within the framework of international law for further development of bilateral relations.

The Turkmen delegation participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Anıtkabir mausoleum on February 25, 2025, in memory of the first President of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
