President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov met with Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov on Wednesday in Bishkek. During the meeting, Minister Meredov delivered an official invitation from the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to attend the High-Level International Forum scheduled in Ashgabat on December 12 of this year.
Both sides acknowledged the high level of bilateral cooperation and emphasized the steady development of political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian relations, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
They also recognized the effectiveness of their partnership in multilateral formats, including within the framework of the United Nations.
President Japarov expressed Kyrgyzstan’s interest in participating in Turkmenistan’s initiatives and confirmed his country’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
On the same day, foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan held political consultations in Bishkek.
