A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, arrived in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on February 11 for talks to strengthen bilateral cooperation, as reported by the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
Meredov met with Iran's Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Khoshang Bazvand. They noted the positive experience of Iranian companies participating in road construction in Turkmenistan and discussed the implementation of agreements reached during meetings of the joint intergovernmental commission.
The talks expressed mutual interest in further expanding economic cooperation.
The Turkmen delegation then met with Iran's Minister of Oil, Mohsen Paknejad, to discuss prospects for collaboration in the oil and gas sector. They highlighted the significant potential for joint projects.
During discussions with Energy Minister of Iran, Abbas Aliabadi, they addressed the modernization of energy systems, rational use of water resources, and coordination of actions among relevant agencies. Both ministers confirmed their intention to enhance cooperation.
The visit of the Turkmen delegation to Tehran continues.
