The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, participated in a memorial ceremony at the Embassy of Germany in Ashgabat on Thursday in connection with the passing of former President of Germany Horst Köhler, as reported by official media of Turkmenistan.
Rashid Meredov signed the condolence book, expressing his condolences to the people of Germany for the loss of an outstanding statesman.
During the ceremony, numerous ambassadors accredited in Turkmenistan also expressed their condolences.
The embassy thanked the high-ranking representatives of the Turkmen government for their solidarity and attention, noting that this gesture contributes to strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.
Horst Köhler, who served as the Federal President of Germany from 2004 to 2010, passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 82 after a prolonged illness.
