The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, arrived for a visit to the Principality of Monaco, as Turkmenistan's official media reported on Sunday.

Before his departure from Ashgabat, he met with local media representatives, according to the report.

In his statement, Berdimuhamedov highlighted that Monaco, designated the "Sports Capital of the World 2025," serves as a model of successful development in this field and emphasized the significance of sports as a tool for strengthening peace and trust.

During the visit, special attention will focus on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Monaco. Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that this date will symbolize the strengthening of cooperation in political, economic, and cultural spheres.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also instructed Turkmen media representatives to cover the partnership with European countries. The areas of cooperation include projects in science, education, agriculture, and environmental protection.

According to the National Leader, this visit will mark a significant step in expanding mutually beneficial ties with European nations and facilitate the implementation of new initiatives and projects.

On the eve of the visit by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen equestrian group 'Galkynysh' participated in the 47th International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo. Turkmen riders presented a unique show featuring Ahal-Teke horses.
