Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Liu Bin, China’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, on January 15 to discuss their growing bilateral partnership. The two diplomats addressed a range of issues, noting the comprehensive and strategic nature of their relations, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairsof Turkmenistan.
Conditions for strengthening intergovernmental relations between Turkmenistan and China arise from the high level of trust and friendship between their leaders. Both countries have achieved success in cooperation within international and regional frameworks, particularly the United Nations.
Meredov and Liu also discussed enhancing inter-parliamentary and inter-party ties, as well as promoting interregional cooperation, underscoring the importance of dialogue in the Central Asia–China format. They reviewed their effective partnership in trade and economics, as well as progress in energy, transport, communication, and cultural exchanges. Both sides expressed readiness to continue relations aligned with the national interests of both nations.
