Turkmenistan plays a crucial role in expanding transport routes for Belarusian products heading to the markets of Iran and India. Sergey Pristavko, head of the cargo operations and foreign economic activity department of Belarusian Railways, emphasized this at the conference Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2024 on Tuesday in Ashgabat, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.
This direction opens up opportunities for increasing exports and strengthening economic ties between the countries. The project aims to develop transport routes connecting Belarus with Central Asia, the Persian Gulf, and South Asia.
Turkmenistan provides a reliable transit path for delivering goods to Iran and India. Using this route allows for shorter travel times, optimized logistics processes, and reduced transportation costs.
Sergey Pristavko noted that strengthening these ties not only boosts the export of Belarusian products but also creates conditions for expanding trade and industrial opportunities in the region, forming a solid foundation for further economic cooperation.
The international conference and exhibition Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2024 (ITTC 2024) will continue until November 27.
