The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who arrived on Thursday in Dushanbe on a working visit at the invitation of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, was awarded the Badge of Honor of the Heads of Central Asian States, the official Turkmen media reported on Thursday.
At the solemn ceremony at the Kasri Millat Palace in Dushanbe, the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon presented the award to the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
The Turkmen Halk Maslakhaty Chairman expressed sincere gratitude for presenting him with this high award during the international events taking place in the Tajik capital.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated that this award is an expression of great respect for the Turkmen people. He also stated that he perceives this award as recognition of Turkmenistan’s contribution to strengthening friendly and fraternal relations between the countries of Central Asia.
The fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia held in Dushanbe resulted in the adoption of a Joint Statement and a number of documents.
