Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Sapar Palvanov, met with Luc Devigne, Deputy Managing Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service (EEAS). The meeting focused on existing platforms for bilateral cooperation between the EU and Turkmenistan, as well as the organization of upcoming dialogues in Brussels and Ashgabat.
A key topic was the planning of the EU-Turkmenistan Joint Committee meeting, which will take place in Brussels later this year. Additionally, the organization of a special Turkmen mission to Brussels in the field of education was discussed.
The meeting also touched on interregional cooperation between the EU and Central Asia, highlighting the current momentum and intensity of their interactions. Turkmenistan's role in this dynamic was emphasized, particularly in connection with upcoming transport-related events.
Plans were further discussed for high-level meetings in Turkmenistan, including ministerial meetings on transport and foreign affairs within the EU-Central Asia format.
