During a government meeting on July 19, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Orazdurdyyeva reported on the preparation of the national team for the upcoming XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris, set to take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.
Athletes from Turkmenistan will compete in four disciplines: judo, weightlifting, athletics, and aquatics, following an invitation from the President of the International Olympic Committee.
Efforts are underway to organize the departure of Turkmenistan’s sports delegation to France, comprising 19 members.
A send-off ceremony for the Turkmenistan team will be held on July 22 at the Sport Hotel in Ashgabat's Olympic Village. Representatives from public organizations, national Olympic and Paralympic committees, sports federations, and students will attend the event.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of developing mass sports and physical culture in the country. He instructed officials to ensure a high organizational level for the send-off ceremony of the national team participating in the Paris Olympics.
