President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the CEO of Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., Baek Jung Wan, in Ashgabat on Thursday. During the meeting, the Head of State expressed the Turkmen side's readiness to consider specific proposals from Korean partners for the development of the chemical industry, particularly the production of phosphate, ammonia, and urea fertilizers.
According to the official media of Turkmenistan, the priority areas of cooperation between the parties include the gas and chemical industries, transport, high technology, investments, and others.
The discussion emphasized the significant opportunities for bilateral partnership, highlighting the participation of Korean companies in creating a new image for Turkmen cities. Korean firms will actively engage in the second phase of constructing the city of Arkadag and implementing the Ashgabat City project.
Baek Jung Wan noted that Turkmenistan, having earned a reputation as a reliable business partner on the world stage, has created a solid foundation for the effective operation of foreign companies and the implementation of joint investment projects. He emphasized that cooperation with Turkmenistan is a great honor for his company.
On the same day, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Tatsuya Watanabe, senior advisor for strategic issues at Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd., and the company's executive director Kenji Sanada.
