Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov, met with Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Jan Bartošek, in Prague on Thursday. During the meeting, they proposed exploring the establishment of a working group on economic cooperation and organizing a joint business forum.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the meeting saw discussions on various aspects of Turkmen-Czech bilateral cooperation.
Among the priorities for enhancing cultural and humanitarian partnerships, the sides named organizing joint exhibitions, festivals, Culture Days, and intensifying contacts between representatives of the creative and scientific intelligentsia.
On the same day in Prague, the foreign policy departments of Turkmenistan and the Czech Republic held political consultations. The Turkmen side was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov, and the Czech side by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jiří Kozák.
Participants reviewed existing Turkmen-Czech agreements and discussed issues related to joint contractual and legal frameworks.
The meeting paid a significant attention to enhancing trade and economic ties, including increasing and diversifying trade turnover, and continuing cooperation in sectors such as energy, transportation infrastructure, agriculture, food, and textile industries.
