Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov, and State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, emphasized the importance of high-level meetings during political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar in Doha on Monday.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the parties discussed issues related to trade and economic relations, investments, tourism, energy, and the oil and gas sector. They also highlighted the significance of the Joint Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
During the consultations, the sides expressed their opinions on the current state of political, diplomatic, cultural, and humanitarian relations between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar. The meeting discussed consistent development of cooperation within multilateral diplomacy, including in the United Nations. They agreed that identifying and developing the contractual and legal framework of partnership should be a priority direction.
Among the prospective areas of cooperation, cultural and humanitarian projects were mentioned, such as organizing Cultural Days, joint exhibitions, and collaboration in the fields of education and sports.
The meeting also discussed relevant issues on the regional and international agenda.
