A new gas production well No. 271 at the Galkynysh field, drilled to a depth of 4,665 meters, has produced a commercial flow of natural gas, the online newspaper of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan published on Wednesday.
According to the report, a high-pressure gas flow was detected at a depth of 4,518 to 4,333 meters, and the total strata thickness is 105 meters.
The workers of the Türkmengazburawlaýyysh department of the State Concern Türkmengaz continue drilling at other gas wells within the Galkynysh field.
Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) agreed in February 2023 on the participation of Emirati oil and gas companies in the next stages of development of Galkynysh field, the second largest gas field in the world, located in the Mary province of Turkmenistan.
