Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, met with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on Monday in Astana. The sides discussed the progress of large-scale projects in trade, economic, energy, and transport-logistics sectors.
According to the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, the meeting also emphasized the importance of bringing these projects to a logical conclusion, reaffirming the special nature of the relationship between the two brotherly states.
The parties discussed current issues on the regional and international agenda and reviewed the schedule of upcoming high-level contacts. They also addressed the development of Turkmen-Kazakh bilateral cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Rashid Meredov emphasized the effective nature of intergovernmental, inter-parliamentary, interdepartmental, and inter-ministerial relations. During the conversation, opinions were exchanged on current issues of the regional and international agenda, which are of mutual interest.
On the same day, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan held political consultations in Astana.
