Heads of diplomatic missions from Central Asian countries, Mongolia, and the Caribbean Basin held their first joint informal meeting in Brussels, during which they discussed the expansion of trade and economic cooperation.
As reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium on Friday, the aim of this meeting is to exchange experiences in the development of trade, economic, and sectoral partnerships, as well as to strengthen interregional and intraregional ties.
Participants paid special attention to the development of the transport and logistics potential of the Central Asian region and the growing interest of the EU in the development of the Middle Corridor.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium Sapar Palvanov noted that Turkmenistan remains committed to bilateral and interregional cooperation despite the great distances and confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to continue supporting and developing this format.
The participants also discussed important issues related to visa regimes, increasing the number of flights and expanding flight geography, tourism, education, digitization (including e-government projects), cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and strengthening democratic institutions.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain substantive dialogue aimed at strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Central Asia, Mongolia, the countries of the Caribbean Basin, and the EU.
