Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated on Thursday in the military parade commemorating the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 in Moscow.
The event also saw the participation of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, Lao People's Democratic Republic President Thongloun Sisoulith, and Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo.
According to Russian media, the parade featured over 70 pieces of military equipment and more than nine thousand personnel.
Following the military parade, the heads of state, along with Russian President Vladimir Putin, participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The parade commemorating Victory in the Great Patriotic War takes place annually on May 9th on Red Square in Moscow.
