Uzbekistan’s suggested switching to the digital E-permit system to provide for the electronic exchange of permission forms during transportation of international cargo by road.
Chairman of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakiyev and Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilhom Mahkamov in a meeting in Ashgabat on Friday exchanged views on expansion of transport and transit communications with elimination of some difficulties arising in the process of cargo transportation, UzDaily news outlet reported on Sunday.
The sides discussed prospects of cooperation in transport and considered unification and harmonization matters of tariffs, duties to simplify and accelerate border operations in order to quickly carry out the process of transportation of goods.
According to the report, Uzbekistan’s suggested switching to the digital E-permit system to provide for the electronic exchange of permission forms during transportation of international cargo by road.
The topic of development of Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran transport corridor was also discussed during the talks.
The meeting participants agreed to continue discussing the development of new transport and transit corridors, as well as the next stages of improvement and expansion of bilateral cooperation.
