The profit of Turkmen entrepreneurs from the export of agricultural products in 2023 amounted to $135 million. This figure exceeds the previous year's indicator by more than 10 percent. Head of the Agribusiness and Fisheries Department of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, Shamyrat Herremov spoke about this on Monday's edition of the Biznes Reklama newspaper.
The export trade of tomato products alone reached $100 million in Turkmenistan last year, Shamyrat Herremov said.
Over 20 new enterprises were launched in the agriculture and food industry last year. Turkmen entrepreneurs continue to expand the geography of exports, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, UAE, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye, said the Head of the Agribusiness and Fisheries Department of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
Shamyrat Herremov added that the opening of new production facilities last year created over 500 new jobs, contributing to the continuous growth of employment opportunities. Since its establishment, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan has successfully generated over 422,000 permanent jobs.
