At present, Turkmenistan has registered 478 investment projects involving companies from the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), said Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, speaking at the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Moscow on Monday, the Baku TV reports.
According to his statement, these projects have been registered for a total amount approaching $5 billion.
During his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasised the active development of economic and investment relations between Turkmenistan and several CIS countries, which provide a solid foundation for subsequent sustainable economic progress.
He also emphasised that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to creating a favourable environment to stimulate and enhance mutually beneficial economic and investment cooperation, integration, and international economic connections.
Hojamyrat Geldimyradov added that they prioritise improving the quality of the space through which transportation and energy projects are implemented and constructing modern infrastructure.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for Economic and Financial Affairs also emphasised that the country recognises the development of the transportation sector as one of the essential priorities of cooperation with the CIS countries.
