The volume of production of natural and associated gas in Turkmenistan in the first seven months of 2021 nears 48.7 billion cubic meters, an increase of 9 billion cubic meters compared to the same period last year, the online newspaper of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan reported on Wednesday.
Since the beginning of this year, the country exported about 27 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 7.3 billion cubic meters more than the same period in 2020. The bulk of the natural gas was supplied to China.
Turkmenistan exports natural gas to China via Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline, comprising three parallel lines – A, B, and C. The construction of an additional line D is underway. Last year, China imported over 39 billion cubic meters of natural gas through the pipeline.
In July, Turkmenistan decided that Chinese company CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering Company Limited will provide services for the completion and commissioning of three wells at the Galkynysh gas field, the world's second-largest gas field located in Turkmenistan’s Mary velayat.
