The raw materials for the production of the new Portland cement brand obtained from Ufra deposit and Akbulak deposit in Turkmenistan.

The cement plants managed by the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan have established production of new Portland cement brand with active mineral additives – basalt porphyrites and crucible, Turkmen Vice- Premier Shamuhammet Durdyliyev reported to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting held online on Friday.

At the meeting the Deputy Prime Minister reported on the ongoing works to establish the production of new types of cement and increase their production, the country’s official media reports.

The raw materials for the production of the new Portland cement brand are rocks from the Ufra deposit of basalt porphyrites, which belongs to the Balkan ore department, and the Akbulak deposit in Dovletli etrap of Lebap velayat. Due to their physicochemical properties, these minerals significantly improve the quality of the cement, according to the Vice-Premier’s report.

Stressing the importance of steadily increasing the potential of the industry and increasing the production of high-quality building materials, which are in high demand both in the country and abroad, the Head of State gave the Vice-Premier a number of specific instructions.

At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on May 1, 2020, Vice-Premier Shamuhammet Durdyliyev reported to President of Turkmenistan that the country's cement plants produce Portland cement grade 400-G20-K, and work continues to establish production of cement grade 500-G20-K.
