Economic Indicators of Turkmenistan’s Balkan Velayat on Rise

Turkmenistan’s western velayat of Balkan has shown high growth rates in areas in recent years. In the first quarter of 2021, industrial products worth 3.396 billion manats were produced in Balkan velayat. The velayat’s products are sold in the domestic and foreign markets.
In the January-March period, the retail trade turnover in the Balkan velayat amounted to 1.527 billion manats, which is 118% more compared to the same period last year. The private sector accounted for more than 1.4 billion manats of the retail trade, the country’s official media reported on Saturday.
Over the three months of this year, the velayat’s growth in the area of electricity distribution was 115%.
During the first quarter of this year, the gas compressor stations of Balkanabat Gas Collection and Supply Department located in the Balkan velayat procured and sent to consumers 961.082 million cubic meters of natural gas.
