The company expects to receive 30 tons of potatoes per hectare this year.
Entrepreneur Rustem Bashimov’s Tebigy Ekin company in Turkmenistan’s Lebap velayat completed the spring sowing of potatoes on 300 hectares of land.
The company has received 953 hectares of plots for 99 years. Almost all of the farmland is located near the city of Turkmenabat.
Tebigy Ekin planted Gala variety of potatoes in the fields. The crops that are in high demand in the domestic market will ripen by the end of May - beginning of June in 100-120 days. Last year, the yield per hectare was 20 tons. The company expects to increase this indicator to 30 tons this year.
The agricultural producer also grows 10 hectares of onions planted in autumn. The onions are expected to grow in parallel with the spring potatoes.
The company’s range of activities also include production of grapes and horticultures on more than 16 hectares of land.
