Azyk Production Association plans to harvest more than 760 tons of tomatoes until June of this year from its greenhouse complex in Koneurgench etrap of Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz etrap.
This year, farmers grow Bandito variety of tomatoes at the greenhouse, Daşoguz Habarlary newspaper reported on Thursday. To date, around 240 tons of greenhouse tomatoes have been supplied to the local markets.
The greenhouse complex covers a total area of 10 hectares and consists of four sections. All processes, including irrigation, replenishment, maintenance of temperature and moisture levels, are automated and controlled using computer technology.
The greenhouse complex employs more than 100 specialists and has been yielding a rich harvest of tomatoes for two years.
