The Private farmer planted sesame on 10 out of 50 hectares of land allocated to him by the state for long-term use in Dashoguz.
Private sector representatives in Turkmenistan’s northern velayat of Dashoguz are actively involved in sesame production. This year, entrepreneur Nurgeldi Gurbanbayev has grown four tons of sesame seeds in the Ruhubelent etrap of the velayat, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Friday.
The private farmer has been producing sesame for the second year. This season, the farmer planted sesame on 10 out of 50 hectares of land allocated to him by the state for long-term use.
According to the farmer, the experience gained in sesame cultivation opens up prospects for increasing the yield of oilseeds.
Dashoguz’s entrepreneurs also obtained a rich harvest in the other parts of Ruhubelent etrap and in the S. Turkmenbashi etrap. The region’s farmers began cultivating in large volumes sesame seeds only this year.
Sesame contains 50-60% fat, more than 21% protein, 9.14-19.3% carbohydrates, 3% fiber and 6.5% water. Sesame oil is a light yellow liquid and has a sweetish aroma.
