Turkmenistan, EU to Intensify Energy, Transport, Trade Cooperation

The diplomats focused on the importance of strengthening multilateral relations in the fields of energy, transport, trade and education.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Turkmenistan Diego Ruiz Alonso on Tuesday.

According to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry’s press release, the sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU and focused on the importance of strengthening multilateral relations in the fields of energy, transport, trade and education.

The diplomats underlined the importance of hosting meetings with the participation of representatives of relevant departments and structures of Turkmenistan and the EU for the discussion of promising large-scale projects and issues of their practical implementation.

The officials also discussed the intensification of work on implementation of the Preparedness and Response Plan of Turkmenistan for Acute Infectious Disease, which outlined the main directions of joint activities on the revival of socio-economic indicators in post pandemic period.
