Agricultural Producer in Turkmenistan Grows Apple Orchards on Hill

The company grows trees using the trellis method, which allows intensive harvest accumulation.

Yunus Daýhan agricultural producer is cultivating 10 hectares of apple orchards on hilly area at an altitude of 87 meters above sea level in Dovletli etrap in Turkmenistan’s northeastern velayat of Lebap, Neytralnyi Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Thursday.

According to the report, water is supplied for irrigation of fruit trees using a special method: water from the Amu Darya river first enters a special settling tanks, and then is delivered using installed pumps.

“We grow apples of the five most popular varieties in the world: Red, Redchief, Jerome, Scarlett and Golden Delicious, which not only taste great, but can also be stored for a long time,” said the farmer Begali Ergashov.

Yunus Daýhan, headed by businessman Yunus Abdullayev, has began growing apple trees in hills four years ago and presently plans further expansion.
