Mung bean is one of the oldest leguminous crops, which has spread around the world from India. Green beans are famous in many countries; it is very popular in Asian cuisine. Mung bean is not only efficient vegetable protein; it also contains calcium and magnesium, phosphorus and potassium, sodium and selenium, iron and copper, group B vitamins and fibre.
This leguminous crop has number of undisputable advantages including in the sphere of stable agricultural production. Thermophilic plant does not use much water, which is very important in the conditions of arid farming. In addition, used as an intermediary crop, Mung bean supports improvement of land fertility due to the content of nitrogen. It is not occasionally that leguminous crops are called as ‘architects of soil health’.
Members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs have started project of cultivation of Mung beans for export supplies in 2019. More than hundred agricultural producers, members of the UIET, participate in Mäş Taslamasy project.
