An important aspect of the policy consistently implemented by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is the effective use of the potential of the oil and gas industry.
At an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on July 3, the head of state gave a number of instructions to further improve the activities of fuel and energy enterprises, increase the production and processing of oil and natural gas, introduce modern digital technologies, and expand international cooperation in the energy sector.
Among the key tasks was the development of oil and gas blocks in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and oil fields discovered in the Caspian zone of Western Turkmenistan, active attraction for these purposes of foreign investments and experienced foreign companies.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out the need to timely carry out work on exploration of new oil and condensate deposits, to ensure an increase in hydrocarbon reserves to create a reliable raw material base for the fuel and energy complex.
Stressing that a significant component of the country's energy strategy is the implementation of the project for the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, the head of state ordered to accelerate work to diversify the supply of Turkmen natural gas to world markets and search for potential consumers.
