The Turkmen Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium Sapar Palvanov met with European Commission’s Transport Adviser Henrik Hololei, DG INTPA Director Peteris Ustubs, and Andrea Rossi from the European External Action Service in Belgium on July 6, 2024, to discuss strengthening EU-Turkmenistan cooperation in the transport sector.
The meeting highlighted Turkmenistan's key role as a transport bridge between Asia and Europe. Both parties acknowledged progress in EU-Central Asia cooperation and Turkmenistan's proactive involvement in the sector.
They discussed the upcoming meeting of transport ministers from the EU and Central Asia in Turkmenistan, aimed at establishing a high-level coordination platform for transport cooperation. This initiative seeks to develop infrastructure and enhance logistics between the regions, boosting economic and trade ties.
The meeting reflected a mutual commitment to deepening cooperation in the transport sector.
