President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat on Tuesday in Ashgabat, as reported by the official Turkmen media.

The diplomat expressed deep gratitude, presenting her credentials and warm greetings from Indian President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, congratulating Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat on her appointment to an important diplomatic post, extended his best wishes for success in her mission to strengthen interstate dialogue. Responding with greetings and best wishes to the leadership of the Republic of India, the head of Turkmenistan expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of bilateral partnership.

They discussed the productive collaboration between Turkmenistan and India in trade, including fuel and energy, transportation, agriculture, and the textile industry. The significance of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline project was highlighted, emphasizing its contribution to economic growth, job creation, infrastructure development, and attracting significant foreign investments in the participating countries.

The meeting concluded with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Ambassador Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat expressing confidence in the dynamic development of Turkmen-Indian cooperation, guided by mutual goodwill, acquiring new concrete substance.
