Turkmenistan President Holds Phone Talks With Kyrgyz Leader

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov engaged in a telephone conversation with Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov, as reported by Turkmenistan's official media on Tuesday.

Expressing greetings to the leader of the friendly nation, President Berdimuhamedov conveyed sympathy on behalf of the Turkmen people for the recent thermal power plant incident in Bishkek.

President Berdimuhamedov voiced support for Kyrgyzstan, extending well-wishes for the swift completion of restoration work at the affected thermal power plant.

In response, President Sadyr Japarov expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Kyrgyz people, acknowledging Turkmenistan's prompt assistance during this challenging period. He emphasized the high value Kyrgyzstan places on the friendly relations, highlighting Turkmenistan's early response to aid.

The leaders recognized the distinguished level of mutual understanding and openness characterizing the relations between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan during their conversation.

Concluding the exchange, both President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President Sadyr Japarov extended wishes for good health and success in their respective governmental roles. They also expressed hopes for peace, prosperity, and well-being for the fraternal peoples of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.

In accordance with the Presidential order signed by Serdar Berdimuhamedov on February 3, 2024, Turkmenistan dispatched 2,000 tons of liquefied gas to Kyrgyzstan as humanitarian aid, further solidifying their commitment to supporting their neighboring nation during challenging times.
