A Turkmen delegation, led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, embarks on a working visit to Japan from January 22 to 23, 2024, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Monday.
The visit encompasses meetings with the Government, Parliament, relevant ministries and agencies, and leadership from financial and export-credit agencies and leading Japanese companies.
The agenda for the upcoming meetings will prioritize strengthening intergovernmental dialogue, expanding contacts in inter-parliamentary cooperation, further developing political and diplomatic interaction, enhancing trade and economic partnership, and deepening scientific and educational ties.
The previous visit of the Turkmen delegation to Japan in December of the previous year resulted in the signing of two contracts between the State Concern Türkmenhimiýa (Turkmen Chemicals) and the Japanese company Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. Representatives from the aviation authorities of Turkmenistan and Japan also convened in Tokyo to discuss establishing direct air communication between the two countries.
