Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Italy Meets With New IFAD President

The sides reaffirmed their willingness to continue the ongoing dialogue on cooperation between Turkmenistan and the IFAD and to strengthen cooperation for implementation of joint projects in the future.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Italy, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to FAO Toyly Komekov met on Monday with the newly elected President of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Alvaro Lario at the IFAD Headquarters in Rome, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Italy Republic announces in a statement to the media.

During the meeting, Ambassador Toyly Komekov informed about the reforms and extensive work carried out in Turkmenistan to transform agriculture into a high-tech industry.

Development of the national agro-industrial complex through the rational use of land and water resources and wide introduction of new technologies are urgent tasks for the state, according to the Turkmen envoy.

The IFAD President, in turn, informed about the activities and projects of the organization aimed at improving the welfare of rural residents.

The sides reaffirmed their willingness to continue the ongoing dialogue on cooperation between Turkmenistan and the IFAD and to strengthen cooperation for implementation of joint projects in the future.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Italy, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to FAO Toyly Komekov and the Director-General of FAO QU Dongyu on Thursday at the FAO Headquarters discussed the draft agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and FAO on opening of the FAO office in the country.
