Turkmenistan Celebrates 75th Anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War

A solemn military parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 took place in Ashgabat.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Turkmen people and honorary veterans on the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945  during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on Friday.  

A ceremony to honor veterans of the Great Patriotic War, their spouses and veterans who, worked in the rear, with a jubilee medal, and presenting them with valuable gifts was held in Turkmenistan on Saturday.

On the same day, a wreath-laying ceremony took place in Ashgabat at the Halk hakydasy Memorial Complex. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Colonel General Alexander Fomin, heads and officials of ministries, departments of Turkmenistan, heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited in the country attended the event. Then the event continued with a solemn military parade, which culminated with fireworks.

Celebrations dedicated to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, widows of fallen soldiers, and workers in the rear took place in all regions of the country.
