CIS Foreign Ministers Council to Hold Video-Conference Meeting

The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held in a video conference format on May 12, according to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The CIS foreign ministers will exchange views on topical issues on the international agenda and interaction within the commonwealth, discuss a wide range of issues on further development and deepening cooperation in key areas.

The ministers are set to approve the CIS multi-level inter-MFA consultations plan for 2020. The draft document includes topics related to the coordination of positions of the CIS member states in the UN, interaction with other international organizations, information sector, countering new challenges and threats, disarmament and foreign policy planning.

The meeting of the CIS Ministerial Council will deal with the draft strategies for the development of cooperation in tourism, physical culture and sport for 2021-2030 and will also consider the draft program of the main events of cooperation in culture for 2021-2025.

The meeting participants will also consider draft agreement on cooperation in fighting corruption that is meant to improve effectiveness of national efforts and cooperation in this field.
