Turkmenistan Looks to Produce 50 Thousand Tons of Calcite Annually

The new production is expected to help saturate the domestic market with high-quality building materials from local natural resources, as well as create new jobs.

Charymyrat Purchekov, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government for the industrial and construction complex, during the online cabinet meeting on Thursday submitted a proposal to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to establish a production facility for producing 50,000 tons of calcite per year in the Koytendag region of Lebap province, the official Turkmen media reports.

In his report, Purchekov said the production will help saturate the domestic market with high-quality building materials from local natural resources, as well as create new jobs.

Following the report, the Head of State focused on the need to build a powerful construction industry in the country able to fully provide domestic consumers with import-substituting high quality products.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of steadily increasing the capacity of the industry and increasing the production of various construction materials that are in high demand both in the country and abroad, addressing a number of specific instructions to the Vice-Premier Purchekov in this direction.

The Government meeting also considered other important state issues and made appropriate decisions to address them.
