Sowing telematics: new batch of John Deere equipment

In anticipation of the start of cotton planting, another batch of agricultural machinery of the world-famous manufacturing company has arrived in our country. At a recent meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov set the task for agricultural workers to organize the upcoming spring campaign and make effective use of special equipment.

Technical and technological modernization is a significant aspect of the ongoing reforms in agriculture aimed at improving the competitiveness of the industry, strengthening food security and the country's export potential. Today, these tasks are being solved on a qualitatively new - innovative basis, taking into account the Concept of development of a digital economy in Turkmenistan approved by the head of state.

Currently, seeders and tractors equipped with a telematics control system have arrived from John Deere from the United States of America. Performing mechanized work using digital technologies and a telematics system in agriculture makes it possible to cultivate the soil in the most accurate way.

Last August, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG ”(Germany) on the introduction of a digital electronic control system in agricultural machinery and equipment in the agricultural industry for the period 2020-2030.

According to the document, in the next few years, high-performance special equipment of the John Deere and Claas brands, purchased by our country in 2013-2019, will be equipped with telematics. This system allows you to track machines, in particular, their location, fuel consumption, actual hours of operation, loading, and many other parameters, directly from the office, as well as from anywhere with Internet access or from a mobile phone.

For this, a Management Center has been created in the administrative building of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, which will receive real-time information about the equipment involved in agricultural campaigns. A similar center of the velayat level is located in the city of Anau of the Akhal velayat.

It is also planned to create local observation posts connected to a single node server in the administrative centers of the country's regions and their etraps, equipped with equipment for collecting, storing, analyzing and processing data.

Note that all modifications of agricultural machines entering our country are subject to mandatory preliminary testing for compliance with local soil and climatic conditions. Thus, John Deere tractors equipped with digital telemetry systems were successfully tested in the cotton fields of the Geoktepinsky, Kaakhkinsky etraps and Ak bughday etrap of the Akhal velayat.

In total, in March-April of this year, 155 tractors of this brand will come to our country and they will have the same number of wheel sets and cultivators, as well as 98 seeders.

In addition, in accordance with the Decrees of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, with John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG ”, new major agreements were concluded for the supply of 600 cotton harvesters to Turkmenistan, 300 of which were received in 2019, and another 300 will arrive by the beginning of the“ white suffering ”of 2020.

The John Deere 9970 harvester is a modern model, which is distinguished by its ease of operation, economy, and high productivity, including due to the large volume of the hopper. Recall that earlier, in 2017 - 2018, 400 units of similar harvesting machines were delivered to our country.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan dated December 2016, an agreement was concluded with the company CLAAS on the phased supply of combine harvesters, tractors for plowing and processing to our country in the period 2017-2020.

According to this document, CLAAS delivered 1,000 units of modern TUCANO 420 combine harvesters, 800 units of AXION 850 arable tractors and 1,550 units of AXOS 340 brand tractors.

By purchasing the latest modifications of equipment with improved functional characteristics, the state thereby strengthens and modernizes the material and technical base of the agro-industrial complex, creating conditions for a stable increase in agricultural production, including through field work in optimal agronomic terms and with high quality. The productivity and professional qualifications of farmers are growing, their working conditions are improving.

Representatives of private business can now purchase modern models of John Deere agricultural machinery and equipment at the expense of a loan received from a bank. In order to provide state support to entrepreneurs, the President of Turkmenistan signed the corresponding Decree in January this year.
