Farmer Contributes to Rich Rice Harvest in Northern Turkmenistan

Rice cultivation is one of main areas of agriculture sector of Dashoguz velayat, as the climatic conditions of the region contribute to good rice growth and its rich harvest.
Farmer Toyly Halmyradov intends to harvest more than 112 tons of rice from a 26-hectare land plot leased in the S. Turkmenbashi etrap of Turkmenistan’s northern velayat of Dashoguz, Daşoguz Habarlary newspaper reported on Thursday.

Halmyradov last year, instead of the targeted 87,433 kilograms of the rice, managed to collect 144,340 kilograms, overfulfilling the production plan by 165%, according to the report.

Rice cultivation is one of main areas of agriculture sector of Dashoguz velayat, as the climatic conditions of the region contribute to good rice growth and its rich harvest. The farmers give preference to farm high-yielding and disease-resistant rice varieties Nukus-2, Munbashi and Alenga, which have adapted to local soil and climatic conditions.

Toyly Halmyradov has been farming rice for 16 years.
