The range of varieties of crops is increasing every year. The area under crops for millet, sesame, peanuts is expanding. Thus, the farmers in Kerki etrap produced 200 tons of millet and 50 tons of peanuts this year.
In addition, with the participation of the private sector, test trials were carried out to plant catch crops in remote areas of the region. As a result, a rich harvest of sunflower, sesame, sorghum, and rice was harvested for the first time in Gulistan valley of Kerki etrap this year.
Intermediate crops enrich the soil composition and prevent weed overgrowth and increase yields. These crops are mainly planted in the Lebap and Dashoguz velayats of the country.
