Mary Power Plant Exports 18 Million Kilowatt-Hours of Electricity Daily

In 2019, the power units of the Mary State Power Plant generated over 8.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.

Mary State Power Plant has generated and exported more than 8.21 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Iran in the first nine months of this year.

According to Türkmenistan newspaper’s Thursday issue, the power plant located in Turkmenistan’s Mary velayat daily produces 38 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and sends 18 million kilowatt-hours of it to neighboring states.

According to the newspaper, these indicators were achieved due to the combined- cycle power plant with a capacity of 1.574 megawatts, which was commissioned in the power plant in September 2018.

In 2019, the power units of the Mary State Power Plant generated over 8.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. The combined-cycle power plant accounted for 70% of the total volume.

In addition, Mary State Power Plant will provide Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line (TAP) with electricity. At the initial stage of construction, the 220 kW power line will run to the city of Herat, Afghanistan.
