Northern Goturdepe oil field is being developed under a contract signed with Singapore-based Yug-Neftegaz.

Turkmennebit (Turkmen Oil) State Concern’s Goturdepe Drilling Operations Department has carried out successful work to obtain an industrial flow of crude oil at the Northern Goturdepe field in Balkan velayat, the online newspaper of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan reported on Thursday.

As a result of the successful drilling of a new well No. 317, carried out by the teams of the Department, a powerful oil inflow was obtained with a daily flow rate of 100 tons at a depth of 4965 meters, which confirms the assessment of experts from the Nebitgazylmytaslama Institute, according to the report.

The field is being developed under a contract signed with Singapore-based Yug-Neftegaz. The oil was recovered from the lower, red-colored layers of the pliocene field using a Chinese Zj-70 DB rig.

The drillers are presently carrying out active work at wells No. 331 with a design depth of 4860 meters and No. 250 with a design depth of 5,000 meters. Drilling works at the wells have entered their final stages, and soon it is expected to receive an industrial flow of oil.
