Representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Ashgabat Stock Exchange held an online meeting with specialists of the Armenia Stock Exchange on Saturday. The sides spoke in favor of stepping up cooperation in the field of exchange activities and expanding the existing base of trade-economic ties.
The Turkmen side in the talks was led by the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Toyly Malikov, the country’s official media reports.
This meeting was aimed at mutual exchange of experience and contributing to the development of foreign economic relations between the two countries.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan emphasized the role of the Turkmen-Armenian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which serves as one of the cooperation mechanisms, according to the report.
Having familiarized with the activities of the Ashgabat and Armenia stock exchanges, the participants identified the priority areas of cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen side proposed to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of cooperation in the securities market.
