The size of the average monthly wages in large and medium-sized enterprises of the country increased by 10.5% compared to the same period last year.
The GDP of Turkmenistan increased by 6.1% in the first half of this year, the Vice-Premier Gadyrgeldi Mushshikov noted in his report to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday.
The meeting summed up the results of the activities of the branches of the national economic complex for January-June of this year, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.
During the period, production in Turkmenistan increased by 5.2% compared to the same period in 2020. In comparison with the same period last year, the retail trade turnover increased by 17.5%.
The volume of foreign trade turnover increased by 3.5% during the period.
The size of the average monthly wages in large and medium-sized enterprises of the country increased by 10.5% compared to the same period last year.
Following the report, the Head of State appointed Gadyrgeldy Mushshikov as Chairman of the Central Bank, relieving him of his post as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to the report, the country has privatized 70 facilities of state property over the past six months.
As of June 1, 2021, the ratio of the volume of investments aimed at developing the national economy to GDP was 15.9%.
In January-June period, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan held 148 trading sessions, concluding 16,143 contracts.
The government meeting also discussed the implementation of the Presidential and other programs of the country's socio-economic development, identified priority tasks for the second half of the year, and considered personnel issues.
