Chambers of commerce and industry of Turkmenistan and Ukraine in a video conference meeting considered favorable options for logistics routes for the transportation of Turkmen and Ukrainian products, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) said in its Monday press release.

The online meeting gathered the heads of the CCIs of Turkmenistan Dovletgeldi Rejepov and Ukraine Gennady Chizhikov, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkmenistan Viktor Maiko, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine Toyly Atayev, Turkmen government officials, as well as the Business Council of the Ukraine’s CCI, regional chambers and Ukrainian businesses.

The meeting participants discussed the current state of trade-economic relations between Turkmenistan and Ukraine and the prospects for further partnership.

The parties agreed to continue work to intensify Turkmen-Ukrainian trade-economic cooperation and to assist businesses in establishing contacts with their potential partners.

In an online meeting in February 2021 between representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, the Ukrainian delegation expressed interest in creating a logistics center on the territory of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.
